Mission Statement

LEARN & PLAY ON ALL LEVELS

We work based on the Situational Approach and the Berlin Educational Program, while drawing inspiration from Montessori pedagogy. This means that we orient ourselves to the needs of the children, involve them in decision-making processes, and aim to support them in their learning processes on all levels.

Our approach is grounded in the recognition of each child’s individuality, which inherently includes the acknowledgment of different life experiences and social affiliations.

We understand our educational work as a joyful, creative, and active learning and development process for all involved. It is especially important to us that the children are able to develop a healthy sense of self-esteem and self-confidence, which is directly linked to the acquisition of social skills

FREE PLAY

Of course, educational work is always preparation for school, but more importantly, for life in general, starting from day one. In a child’s life, free play holds significant importance as the „work of the child,“ which is why it plays a central role in our daily routine at the daycare

Here, the child, almost effortlessly, gains fundamental experiences in various areas of education and learns to understand the world in a playful way. In this way, we help the children develop into confident, independent, and social individuals

COMMUNITY & CONNECTION

In social interactions, language is an important tool and essential for engaging with and understanding the environment. Communication skills are fostered throughout our entire daycare routine. This is especially done through activities such as active reading, conversations during morning circles, at lunchtime, and various other opportunities.

Through various offerings and activities, such as visits to playgrounds, park and project days, trips to the theater or library, etc., we aim to provide the children with opportunities to fulfill their need for movement and creativity. Their questions will be addressed, and their thirst for knowledge will be satisfied.

ACTIVE & CREATIVE

In addition, the weekly sports program „Children’s Movement“ offers opportunities for various physical experiences and the promotion of gross and fine motor skills, balance, coordination, and reaction time

Musical early education is important to us. In everyday life, we enjoy singing with the children, and in addition, they are introduced to music once a week in a playful way and with great joy by a music educator.

Collaboration with parents is an essential part of our daycare. On the one hand, it stems from the daycare tradition, where educators are responsible for daily routines and educational work, while parents contribute through their active involvement. On the other hand, it supports the positive development of each child.

PROMOTE & ENCOURAGE

The portfolio/language learning journal and other observation and documentation tools help to keep track of the child’s development and, if necessary, stimulate opportunities for further support

To ensure that the team functions well, weekly team meetings, regular supervisions, and annual team days are held.
